Black Lung Associations

Black Lung Associations

get help

The national Black Lung Association (BLA) is a member-based organization founded in 1969 to help miners with their black lung disability claims.

Today, there are several association chapters located across Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia. BLA chapters provide education and resources about the benefits claims process, connect you with medical and legal professionals, and advocate for policy to support the continuation and improvement of the Federal Black Lung Program and Black Lung Disability Trust Fund.

If you are interested in joining a BLA or starting a BLA chapter in your community please contact us or visit Take Action to see a list of active chapters.
